Welcome to Lakeside Falls Creek- Your home in the snow.

To make your stay as comfortable as possible, we have put together a small information section, filled with tips, tricks and insider knowledge!

Checking In

Hi and Welcome! Check in is from 3.30pm. Please head into the bar, and our friendly team will check you in.

If you have arrived early- No problem! We have luggage storage available in the Guest Amenities room. Simply head down the stairs all the way to the bottom. Go through the glass door, and turn left. You will see the great big shelves for your bags. Head out and ski, or explore the village or get your rental gear sorted. Come back and see us after 3.30pm and we will give you your key.

If you have arrived after we have locked up for the night (after 10.30pm), you will have received a text message with your room number and directions and any other instructions. Your key will be sitting on your bedside table. Please come and see us at Breakfast time in the restaurant and we will check you in properly.

Your Room

All rooms have upgraded super comfortable mattresses on all beds (yes even the bunks). Rooms on the summit side have balconies, whilst the family rooms on the street side have larger living spaces. In your room you will find fresh linen on all of the beds, and towels for your bathroom. Each bed has 2 pillows, of varying firmness so that there should be something for everybody!

The bathrooms have been recently renovated and feature storage either behind the mirror, under the sink, or both. There is a hairdryer in your cupboard, and spare toilet paper on your shelf. Our luxury guest amenities are from the Olive Oil Skincare Company, and rooms have a soap bar, plus shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The Olive Oil Skincare Company is Australian owned, and their products are natural, eco friendly and sustainable sourced from central and Riverina NSW.

There is an open wire hanging rack in each room. This is to allow damp clothes to dry and air overnight. If you need more coat hangers, please just ask. Should your clothes be particularly wet, please make use of the Drying Room on level 3 (entry level) which has very warm heat and a de-humidifier to try to dry clothes more quickly.

Rooms have a mini fridge for storing a few drinks or keeping snacks cool. Heating throughout the hotel is on a hydronic system. In your room, you can turn it up or down on the heater and towel rail by turning the knob. Turning toward the +sign will increase the heat, whilst the -sign will decrease. Sometimes our heating can be a bit too efficient! If you are finding it warm, we recommend opening your bathroom window just a little to let that fresh alpine air inside.

The smart TV in every room allows you to log in to your own streaming services like Netflix, Disney+ or Stan. If you are looking for live TV, you need to go to the free to air channel’s streaming app. ABCiview, SBSonDemand, 7plus, 9Now, or 10Play.

If you have a balcony, please ensure that you are inside with the door closed by 10pm so that noise from your balcony does not travel to your neighbours.

There is no smoking or vaping in the rooms, and if you do smoke outside on the balcony, please ensure that the balcony door is closed so that the smoke does not waft into the room. Rooms smelling of any kind of smoke will after departure will incur an additional cleaning fee.

Each room has additional power points located near the TV, along with USB ports. If you need an extension lead for sleep apnea appliances, please just ask our team.

There is NO Cooking allowed in the room at any time. Holidays aren’t for cooking anyway…come up and hang out with us and eat in our onsite restaurant.

We only service the rooms on stays of over 5 days in order to maintain your privacy, and keep our rates affordable. However, we are always here to help, and if you need your bin emptied, or fresh towels, or extra soap or toilet paper, please just ask us.

Hot Tub, Sauna and Steamroom

Our Hot Tub, Sauna and Steamroom are located on Level 2 (1 floor below entry level). White towels are provided for you to use in the entry to this area. We ask that you do not use the black room towels as they sometimes become bleached and faded from the chlorination.

This facility is open from 3pm-9pm daily. Every morning at breakfast, we have a booking sheet for each room to book a 30minute time slot in the hot tub. The sauna and steam room can be used anytime between these hours, however it is alot nicer if you know when you can submerge yourself in that dreamy hot water and also if you know the person you are sharing it with! That’s why we created the booking system. If you forget to select your preferred time at breakfast, our housekeeping crew pop it on the door of the spa after breakfast so you can add your name to the list at any time.

The sauna has a bucket of water to add a ladle full to the scorching hot coals. If it needs refilling, just ask our crew.

The steamroom has a control panel on the wall beside it. There is an instruction sheet on the wall, but essentially, once you turn it on, and select your temperature and time, it will take around 2-5minutes to start to generate the steam. There is also a great mist shower function to cool off.

Swimwear must be worn in these facilities at all times, and children under 16 must be accompanied by actively supervising adults. There is no food or drink in the spa area to ensure that it remains clean for the guests using it after you. Please place your used white towels in the hampers in the entry area.

There is a shower, toilet and changeroom along with vanity area here also.

Breakfast

A substantial continental breakfast is included in all room rates. Complimentary tea and instant coffee are included, and if you would like a barista coffee we have those available for purchase. A variety of milks are on hand for dietary requirements.

As standard, we have gluten free banana bread and gluten free cornflakes, however if you would like to have gluten free bread available, please send us a message 2 days before your stay so that we can arrange that for you.

Breakfast has all the usual subjects with a variety of cereals, toast, fruit toast, yoghurt, and fresh fruit. In addition we have waffles, toastie fillings and a toastie maker, plus boiled eggs.

Breakfast is served until 10am each morning in the bar and restaurant. Come on up and help yourself!

  • No cooking is allowed in rooms at any time. Please do not bring any cooking equipment with you.
  • Please don’t walk on the stairs in your ski or board boots. The last thing you want is a staircase injury on a ski holiday!

Our Mountain

Getting around: The village shuttle runs in conjunction with the lift times, and the last shuttle is 30 minutes after lifts close, including later operations for night skiing. It is a free shuttle, and can be boarded at any stop. The closest stop to Lakeside is stop 6, outside Summit Ridge, 60 metres to the left of our entry. The shuttle is not the Accommodation Transfer Service, and as such, they do not allow luggage.

The village bowl is 100 metres away and an easy walk. Turn right out the front door and walk down the road. There are stairs to the left when it gets a bit steep. The Village Bowl has The Frying Pan Inn. Falls Creek Hotel is just outside the bowl also, and they are open for lunch only. You can also catch Gully lift by foot (with a lift ticket) down to Alpine Pepper café and back up.

Slalom Plaza is 800 metres away and a fun walk to the left down hill, but we recommend catching the shuttle back up. There are also many stairways through out the village to make getting around easier. The first stair case for our guests is next to Ory’s café. At the bottom of that and to the left is Someplace Else restaurant, Huski Kitchen and Astra, and to the right is Sorella and Apartment 3 bar. Slalom Plaza has the Cock n Bull pub, 1550- Nama. Please. , Powder Keg, Snonuts Donuts and Spud Shak. Also down the stairs is Foodworks and the Post Office.

Ski in- Ski out: Our closest lift is Eagle Express, located 100 metres away in the Village Bowl. Close by the Eagle, is the Summit and Gully chairs also. To access these lifts, ski to the right outside our front door down the road. Be careful as you get close to the bowl as it gets a little steep. Halleys Comet is in Slalom Plaza, and you can walk or ski to the left down the roads through the village to get there.

To ski home: follow the ‘to accommodation’ or ‘to village’ signs from the back of Cloud 9 or the back of Eagle Chair. Turn right down ‘Ory’s’ trail. You will get to the large water tanks with the moth murals. Go past these and continue down hill. First left takes you to the aqueduct trail. You can then cut down beside Cedarwood, or continue along the aqueduct a little further and down the hill to come out directly across from our front door. If you miss the left turn, you will arrive at Ory’s café and can walk 150 metres back up to Lakeside.

Activities: The taboggan slope is at Windy Corner. There is a shuttle from slalom plaza near Foodworks. We have some taboggans for loan to guests, and additional taboggans can be hired from Windy Corner café.

Fireworks are on Thursday evenings at 7pm in the village bowl July & August. We have a great view from our balcony. Twilight Tuesdays are from 3.30-5.30pm there also, with fire pits and marshmallows. Night skiing is on Wednesdays and Saturdays on Wombats Ramble, conditions permitting.
